Based in Europe, Renesans is a family-run company known for crafting some of the finest watercolours, made almost entirely by hand. The range of extra-fine, high-grade watercolours in tubes includes 70 colours. Fifty of them were produced based on a single pigment, thanks to which colours blend perfectly and are excellent for professional use. The new pigments have been tested for compliance with the highest quality standards in terms of stability, purity, solubility, and lightfastness.
Renesans uses only the best raw materials to achieve exceptional properties, such as the ability to re-use paint after drying on a pallet and control the flow of paint even on soft papers. The range of colours is extremely harmonious, balanced, and complete.

Watercolours Intense water in aluminium tubes are exceptional, high-quality watercolours, very efficient due to the vitality and purity of the shades. Mixing smooth, intense colours gives you the possibility to obtain subtle shades. The honey used in the production is not only a preservative, but it also provides the incomparable smoothness of paint. They now offer an improved watercolour formula, infused with a higher honey content for greater colour longevity, brightness, and luminosity. In addition, one of the main binders of Intense water paint is the excellent quality of gum Arabic from the Kordofan region in the central and southern area of Sudan.

The opacity of pigment paint depends not only on the thickness of the applied layer but also on the type and amount of pigment and the type of filler used in the paint.
All colours have been tested using the same methods: applied on a black-and-white striped surface, allowing for a 4-level classification:

Opaque – Semi-opaque – Semi-transparent – Transparent
Light and Weather Resistance

This describes the durability of the paint in daylight. The amount and intensity of affecting factors also matter, such as: the intensity of sunlight, temperature, humidity, oxygen content or other gases in the air.

Colour Index and Pigment Names

The Colour Index is an international standard system for describing dyes and pigments. The combination of letters and numbers indicates the colour category.
For example, PO 20 means Pigment Orange 20.
