about my classes
Watercolour Classes at Stoneleigh Arms Arts Space
Join me for a relaxed and informal fortnightly Intro to Watercolour course in Leamington Spa. These sessions are designed for complete beginners or anyone returning to art after a break, offering a calm and supportive space to explore creativity.
Each workshop gently guides you through the foundations of watercolour painting, helping you build confidence while enjoying the natural, flowing qualities of the medium.
If you’d like to join a session, you can view upcoming workshops and book your place below.
What to Expect
In each session, we explore a new subject while focusing on simple, essential techniques such as colour mixing, washes, blending, and layering. The aim is not perfection, but confidence — learning how watercolour behaves and how to work with it in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Class Details
Workshops run fortnightly from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and cost £39 per person. All materials are included, along with tea and cake, so you can simply arrive and enjoy a creative break in your week.
You’re also welcome to bring your own materials if you prefer. Many students enjoy experimenting with their own paints and brushes, but everything you need is provided, including professional and semi-professional watercolours such as Renesans, Daniel Smith, and Winsor & Newton.
Why People Join
These classes are designed to be more than just art lessons — they are a chance to slow down, switch off, and reconnect with creativity. Many people find painting to be deeply calming, helping reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing.
It’s also a lovely way to meet others in a friendly, welcoming environment and share a creative experience together.
Course Themes
We explore a variety of fun and approachable subjects throughout the year, including Chicken, Highland Cow, Hedgehog, and Bumblebee studies. Each one is designed to build confidence while keeping the process enjoyable and accessible.
