About

My name is Magdalena Edwards and I’m a watercolour artist who draws inspiration from the beauty of nature.

I believe that art should be accessible and available to all art lovers, regardless of their financial status. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience, engage with, and create art.

Art should not be a luxury but a way of living—a source of inspiration, expression, and connection for all.

In my work, I aim to capture the essence of animals with character, using a range of modern techniques to convey a sense of movement and connection with nature.

I love walking and discovering new places full of history and inspiration. Each place gives me fresh ideas and a deeper connection to the people, the natural world, and the diverse cultures around me.

Coming Soon: A Delightful Children’s Book Illustrated by Magdalena Edwards

I’m thrilled to announce my latest project: a beautifully illustrated book of charming, engaging, and rhyming stories by Paul Taylor, aimed at children aged 7–11—but also appealing to adult readers.

Inspired by the author’s Shropshire childhood and his love of animals and birds, this collection introduces new characters to bring joy, while some beloved characters from the first book return to delight familiar readers.

All author proceeds are donated to The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of the author’s late wife, Kay.

The book will be available for purchase soon—stay tuned for updates!

Where My Inspirations Come From: The Beauty of Nature

I have always been inspired by the free spirit of animals and how they revel in every inch of their natural kingdom. Originally from Poland, I grew up surrounded by forests; my family were forest keepers for many generations until the Second World War. The sights, sounds, and smells of the forest are rejuvenating to me and full of wisdom.

On the left, a beautiful brown stag photograph I took on one of our family walks in Bradgate Park, Leicester.

I am fortunate to have visited animals in their natural environments, including a special place my family loves called Kadzidłowo—a nature reserve protecting endangered species such as lynx, wolves, and rare types of deer. Known as Park Dzikich Zwierząt Kadzidłowo, it has been a source of inspiration and connection to the natural world throughout my life.

My illustrations celebrate the beauty, freedom, and joy of animals, bringing a piece of the wild into every story I help tell.
